Gerber® Good Start® asked me to share with you my formula for happiness for keeping my little ones happy (and me sane!) during the first few months after birth. As you may know, having a baby is a life changing event. There are few times in life when life is totally different from one day to the next. Having a child (or a second, or a third, etc) is a life changing event. One day it is just you and then next day life is totally different and you have another person to care for and love. While having a baby is joyful, it can also be stressful too. Mommy wants and needs mommy time to be able to keep her sanity too!
Anyway, my formula for happiness to keeping little ones happy, and mommy sane too is lots of cuddle time and attention! Mom, invite over some friends. The house may be a mess, but who cares? Your friend would love to hold the baby for you while you take a nap or shower. Enlist the help of others. Others want to help you, so just ask for help. I usually give baby lots of cuddles and allow older sibling have lots of cuddles too. Baby is so used to being close to someone (okay, attached to mommy) that I just try to enjoy the time when baby is so helpless and just be helpless myself and sit and do nothing (for a change!).
Anyway, you see above a few of the pictures we have of all of us cuddling together. Little ones just love attention and being with people. The older siblings are the same way -they crave attention to, and what better way to get attention then helping with their little baby sister!
Now for the exciting news that Gerber® Good Start® wanted me to let you know about. Gerber decided to make all of their Good Start® formulas without the use of genetically engineered ingredients because that is what a significant number of parents want. What does this mean? This means that the ingredients used in Good Start® formulas are not from crops grown with genetically engineered seed.
Why did Gerber® Good Start® decide to make their formulas without the use of genetically modified ingredients and is there any benefit to my baby? Gerber® Good Start® decided to make their formulas without the use of genetically modified ingredients because that is what parents wanted. Formula made without genetically modified ingredients provide is no additional nutritional benefit to your baby. Regulatory agencies and organizations, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture, World Health Organization and National Academy of Sciences, have found that genetically modified crops are as safe as traditional crops; however, after listening to consumer feedback, they decided to change things. As your partner in helping you raise a happy and healthy child, Gerber Good Start® continues to evolve their products to meet consumers’ preferences.
