Short i inchworm: Teaching the Short I sound is fun with this gross motor activity. Visit https://www.sightandsoundreading.com for more fun activities
We have a goofy post for you today.   Mrs. Karle has an outdoor activity to help children learn the short i sound.  This activity is great as a gross motor activity -get those children moving!  It also is great to let the children use their thinking caps and imagination!
In this video Mrs. Karle finds an inchworm that says ‘i’ ‘i’ ‘i’…she also points out a few other short i sounding words.  You could have students go looking for short i words on a scavenger hunt if you wanted.
Children love to pretend they are inchworms -inching along the ground making the short i sound.  Are you ready to get up and get moving like an inchworm and find all the short i words?
