Letter V Craft: Vulture Craft

Although vultures are really disgusting and gross in real life, in craft form, they are adorable. If you want to go through the alphabet using animals only, you almost have to use vultures as there aren’t as many animals that start with V as some of the other letters. Make this fun Letter V craft when you’re studying the letter V or when you just want to have a craft to make during the study of birds and vultures specifically.

Kids will love how they can play with this craft once they are done making it. They almost become toy-makers rather than simply crafters when completing this V is for vulture craft.

Before we go to the Vulture Craft, I would like to share some recommended books for you to use teaching the letter V:

V is for Vulture Craft Directions

  1. This craft is easiest if you make the body of the vulture in advance. Glue two cardboard or Styrofoam egg cups together using hot glue and let dry.
  2. You will also need to cut out a head with an attached beak, two brown wings, and a brown tail for each vulture.
  3. On craft day, let the kids glue the head, wings, tail, and eyes on the vulture. Once it’s dry, kids can play with it and have fun making their vultures fly. You can also add legs to the vulture if you want, but I didn’t find it necessary to make a recognizable vulture shape. It’s really all about the beak and head for vultures.

Use this fun craft as part of your activities during the time when your class is studying the letter V. There is no end to the fun you can have with these little vulture pets.
