Saint Valentine lived in a time when soldiers were forbidden to marry. (This was because they thought that married soldiers risked less because they were concerned with their family at home. Saint Valentine went against the rules and continued to marry soldiers. He was thrown in jail and while in jail he would be visited by the guard’s daughter, who was blind. He healed the guard’s blind daughter. The guard was so moved, he later converted to being Catholic. Valentine was sentenced to death. He wrote the guard’s daughter a note before he died and signed it “from your Valentine”.. and so, the first Valentine was sent! Valentine is known for being the Saint for lovers. You should love despite having to go through hard times.
The Saint Valentine coloring page also comes with the story of Saint Valentine. To get your free Saint Valentine coloring Page, enter in your email into the form below.
