With Thanksgiving around the corner, I wanted to post a few of my favorite Thanksgiving books for Preschool. All of my children have loved/currently love these books. Best thing about them? The first few books in our Thanksgiving books for preschool are great for beginning readers! We love Biscuit in our home – easy to read, and great for building confidence in little readers. We love the “I can Read!” series in our home… It’s Thanksgiving! is a fun book perfect for preschool students to listen and enjoy. Amazon says: It’s time for turkey! The parade is about to start. My second grader loves Amelia Bedelia…and my little ones just like to listen and laugh. Amelia Bedelia Talks Turkey is silly and fun and a great book to add to our Thanksgiving Books for Preschool list. Another great easy reader, The First Thanksgiving is a teaching book to teach preschoolers about Thanksgiving. Amazon says: The story of the Pilgrims is vividly retold in simple language for beginning readers.
My children love to hear this book before bed. Thank You Prayer is a great book for Thanksgiving or any time of the year. After we read this book at night we always add our own thank you prayers. We love the Berenstain Bears in our home. Berenstain Bears Thanksgiving All Around is a family favorite. My children love all of the Olivia books. She is on goofy pig with quite the imagination! Olivia Talks Turkey is no different! Preschoolers will love this book. Amazon writes, Olivia’s fine turkey talk brings a pet turkey into her life… but Mom and Dad won’t let her keep it. Luckily for the turkey, Olivia knows someone who’s also a great turkey talker and who has wanted a pet turkey her whole life… Mrs. Hoggenmuller!
My children love “The Night Before” series too! … I think it must help them in feeling prepared. The Night Before Thanksgiving is all about getting ready for Turkey Day!
